FAQ's
In almost 60 years in operation, we’ve fielded a lot of customer questions. Here are the answers to some of our most common questions.
Frequently Asked Questions
Absolutely. In addition to being forklift-portable, all mobile Hi-Vac systems can be moved around your facility on an available in-plant trailer or transported on roads with a full highway trailer package. No electrical power available on-site? No problem. Diesel- and LP-gas-powered versions are also available for most mobile configurations.
Selecting flame and explosion prevention configurations is where Hi-Vac’s years of expertise in industrial vacuum systems come into play. While there are a wide range of technical solutions available, depending on site dust characteristics, our veteran sales engineers will work with you to select flammability suppression and explosion relief accessories that meet your specific Kst class and Pmax values. Hi-Vac’s extensive catalog of grounding, isolation, venting, and suppression components—combined with our unique ability and willingness to customize systems to meet almost any customer need—provides assurance that the product configuration will be a perfect match for your specific application.
In addition to traditional external venting options, Hi-Vac offers full HEPA filtration accessory systems for almost all of our industrial vacuums. HEPA modules can be configured pre-sale or supplied as plug-and-play bolt-on installations for existing systems. Unlike aftermarket solutions, this system has been OEM-engineered to retain full unit vacuum performance during use.
Long-life components combined with regular maintenance are the keys to extending any machine’s service life while reducing long-term cost of ownership. In industrial vacuum systems, automatic filter cleaning and system protection shutoffs are the primary life extenders. Nothing stops airflow faster than a clogged filter—or for a longer period—than material ingress into the vacuum pump. Automated bag and cartridge shaker systems are standard on all Hi-Vac systems, and a full suite of broken bag, clogged filter, and elevated blower outlet temperature safety shutdowns are available. Hi-Vac also makes filters easily accessible for replacement, with cartridge-based units featuring a built-in access lid lift mechanism.
