Foundries
Collecting the heaviest and most abrasive materials
Sand and metal chips and shavings create one of the most difficult vacuum removal applications.
Foundries need to collect and reuse both casting sand and metal chips and shavings created during secondary machining operations. Both casting sand and metallic waste have intrinsic value and are typically collected for reuse or recycling.
Both casting sand and metal shavings are extremely heavy and very abrasive. Metal shavings can also tangle, creating razor-edged metallic waste clumps.
Hi-Vac’s 400 Series Industrial vacuum systems provide the power to move wet or dry foundry waste to the collection point, with available standard motors up to 75HP and a 1,650 CFM & 18”HG positive displacement blower providing up to 500’ of conveyance. Built-in abrasion-resistant components prevent premature component failure.
The 400 Series’ low-maintenance bag shaker system, three-stage material separation system, and multi-level safety shutdown features protect the blower from material ingress. Hi-Vac 400 Series units translate a design built for this application into a decades-long track record of bulletproof reliability.
Vacuum equipment must always be operated by a properly trained and competent worker, following all safe work practices and documented procedures for this type of equipment
